Here to Walk With You

Meet Your Counselor

Savannah Garza, MA, LPC-Associate

Hi, I’m Savannah, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate under the supervision of Mark Cagle in the state of Texas. More than that, I am a counselor with a heart for walking alongside people through the hard, hidden places and into healing. I became a counselor because I know what it’s like to carry the weight of trauma, to question your worth, and to wonder if wholeness is even possible. I believe it is—and I consider it a sacred privilege to walk alongside others as they discover that for themselves.

My Background & Training

The foundation of my clinical experience

I graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2022 with a degree in Communication, and later earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Colorado Christian University in 2024.

Graduate school gave me more than theories—it gave me a front row seat to people’s stories. Whether in equine therapy arenas or private practice rooms, I learned that real healing doesn’t come from rushing or fixing, but from being truly seen and heard.

Now, I walk with clients through trauma, grief, anxiety, and identity struggles with the belief that people aren’t broken—they’re simply carrying more than anyone was meant to carry alone.

My Therapeutic Approaches

Therapeutic approaches are like different kinds of soil, water, and sunlight—each one nurturing growth in its own way. Since no two people are the same, I blend these elements thoughtfully to create the right environment for your unique healing and growth. The process of therapy is meant to nurture you, not force you to fit into a mold. And I keep this at the heart of how I shape our work together—making sure your journey feels personal and flexible, not boxed in by any one method.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Helps us identify and gently challenge patterns of thinking that might be keeping you stuck. It’s about understanding how thoughts influence feelings and actions—and learning new ways to respond that serve you better.

Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT)

Similar to CBT, but focuses more on uncovering and shifting deeply held beliefs that can cause distress. It encourages a compassionate yet direct look at how our beliefs shape our experience.

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)

Keeps our eyes on your strengths and goals, so we work together to find practical solutions and build momentum—because sometimes small changes can make a big difference.

Existential Therapy

Invites us to explore the bigger questions of meaning, freedom, and responsibility—especially when life feels overwhelming or uncertain. It’s about discovering what matters most to you and living with intention.

Gestalt Therapy

Centers on the present moment and your experience right here and now. It encourages awareness, acceptance, and authentic connection with yourself and others.

Rogerian (Person-Centered) Therapy

The foundation of my work—creating a warm, non-judgmental space where you feel fully heard and accepted as you are, so healing can unfold naturally.

a little more about me

A Glimpse into My Life

I’m a Christian, motivated and disciplined by my faith daily. I’m also a mom to my son, Miles, navigating this wild and wonderful journey one day at a time. Before that, I was first a dog mom to my Aussie, Brandy. When I’m not chasing after my toddler, you’ll likely find me hiking the trails in the Hill Country or hunting for treasures at the local thrift store.
